Limitation can also mean setbacks, stagnations and losing out in the battles of life. Hindrance happens when you have the potential still, you cannot make progress in life.

We all have or currently experience limitations in our lives. I remember at a point in my life. I was at a particular level. I was not moving forward in my career and other areas of my life.

The Bible in Jeremiah 1:19 is a clear sign that you are bound to encounter setbacks as a Christian. You must know that being a Christian does not exempt you from the challenges of life.

Well, the good news is that God has assured you in Romans 8:37 of being a conqueror through Christ.

In this post, I will highlight the strategies on how you can deal with limitations as a Christian. You will receive the grace to deal with your challenges.

I would love to hear from you in the comment section. Let me know how you have dealt with limitations in the past.

Overcoming Limitations Sermon

Every Christian must face limitations in every facet of their life. But, it would be a big mistake if you do not find a way to overcome your challenges.

I know you would ask why God allow believers to encounter obstacles in life?

Life is an examination where you need to pass a test to get a promotion to the next level. Your battles are a platform to advance to your place of destiny.

There are many examples of scriptural characters that faced hardship and trials;

  • Job (Job 1:6-22)
  • David (1 Samuel 30:8)
  • Moses (Numbers 12)
  • Jeremiah (Jeremiah 43:1-2)
  • Joseph (Genesis 39)
  • Jephthah (Judges 1:4-6)

In life, you will encounter trials on the verge of success. These challenges are not there to bring you down. But to ready you for the responsibilities of your new task.

From this day, I do not want you to see your challenges as your defeat. Take your setbacks as an experience for a great picture.

Life is full of challenges. You will encounter new challenges every day of your life. So, you must know how to deal with your limitations.

How to Overcome Limitation

Here are the strategies on how to deal with limitations;

  • Know The Word of God (Proverb 4:7)
  • Exercise Faith in God (2 Corinthians 5:7)
  • Act Now (Matthew 11:12):
  • Have a Clear Vision (Habakkuk 2:2)
  • Depend on God (Proverb 3:5-6)
  • Become Born Again (Romans 10:9)

Know The Word of God (Proverb 4:7)

Knowing the word of God is the key to overcoming your limitations. The scriptures in Luke 10:19 says that God has given you the power to tread upon snakes and scorpions. You can defeat your enemies.

The knowledge of the scripture gives you the confidence to face your challenges in life.

Also, the Bible is a guide for you to know the strategies to apply to battles that are facing you. You cannot afford to be clueless about how to solve your challenges.

Studying the word of God is necessary for Christians. The application of God’s word makes you overcome your limitations.

Exercise Faith in God (2 Corinthians 5:7)

Application of faith as a Christian means placing all your trust in God. It is the ability to maintain a mindset that everything would be okay even when you are in the middle of a crisis.

The scripture in Romans 4:16 describes Abraham as the father of faith. It is the faith of Abraham that gives you the optimism that you will overcome your limitation.

Without faith, you would give in to your challenges. That would be a defeat by your hardship and trials.

Develop faith that everything will work in your favour.

You Must Act Now (Matthew 11:12)

Overcoming your obstacles requires that you take specific actions to become victorious.

A student must study his books to pass his exams in flying colours. So also, as a Christian, you must put in the hard work to succeed.

For example, you can learn a digital skill to overcome the challenges in your finance. You cannot stay idle or lazy and expect things to work in your favour. It is why the Bible says that an idle mind is the devil’s workshop.

From today;

  • Set achievable goals
  • Learn the process
  • Plan
  • Work to achieve your goals

Have a Clear Vision (Habakkuk 2:2)

Having a clear vision for the future is an open secret for overcoming your setbacks. Vision is an inspirational visualization of tomorrow.

It is the vision of a glorious future that makes a man persevere. A student would work hard despite the odds to achieve success. He believes that he would have a great career with his certificate from school.

The process is the same for Christians. You need to set a clear vision for the future. It would keep you in check and motivate you to face your present challenges.

It is easy to give up on your challenges when you have no vision for the future. The scripture says – “where there is no vision, the people perish”.

God does not want you to be lazy or clueless about your future. Sit down and seek divine guidance in your decision making.

Depend on God (Proverb 3:5-6)

Total reliance is the key to overcoming your limitations. In Proverbs 3:5-6, the scripture says that you must put God first in all your decision-making processes.

It is God’s grace that gives you the strength to overcome your trials. John 15:5 is a more powerful reason why you must abide by the will of God.

Whoever abides in me and I in him will bear much fruit.

With God, nothing is impossible. Ask God for the grace to overcome every limitation in your life.

Become Born Again (Romans 10:9)

Salvation is the solution for you to overcome your challenges in life.

You cannot receive divine help if you are not born again. You must surround your soul with Christ.

Righteousness is what brings you to the loving-kindness and tender mercy of God. A righteous life radiates the glory of God.

You need salvation for God to help you overcome every one of your challenges.

  • Accept Jesus as your saviour
  • Believe in the resurrection power of Jesus
  • Confess your sin
