List of Federal, State & Private Polytechnics in Nigeria 2023

Polytechnics in Nigeria are tertiary institutions that offer National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) certificate programmes.

The duration of studying at the Polytechnic is two (2) years each for National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) certificate programmes.

The total duration of completion of either of the programmes is;

• ND Programme = Two (2) years
• HND Programme = Four (4) years

Students go for one (1) year of industrial training after graduating from the National Diploma (ND) programme.

There are one hundred and fifty-nine (159) Polytechnics in Nigeria offering ND and HND programmes in various academic programmes.

Getting admission in Nigeria is easier with the Polytechnic than at Nigerian universities because of their lower cut-off marks.
