How to Calculate UNN Post UTME Aggregate Score (JAMB & O’level)

The Univerisity of Nigeria (UNN) Post UTME screening exercise for the 2023/2024 academic session shall be by assessing verified JAMB UTME, O/Level and Direct Entry results in place of the Post UTME CBT examination.

This post will show you how to calculate your UNN Post UTME aggregate using your JAMB score and O’level result (WAEC or NECO).

Let me know in the comment if you have any questions or need further assistance. I would love to assist you.

UNN Aggregate Score Without Post UTME

A student with a laptop

Here is how to calculate your UNN Post UTME aggregate score;

Ratio: 60:40

  • 60% for JAMB
  • 40% for O’level

O’level Grade

  • A1 = 100 points
  • B2 = 90 points
  • B3 = 80 points
  • C4 = 70 points
  • C5 = 60 points
  • C6 = 50 points

Now let’s assume you are applying to study Medical Laboratory Science with a JAMB score of 280, and the following are your WAEC result grades;

Now multiply your JAMB score by 0.6, and add up to your O’level point aggregates.

  • Aggregate Score = (280 x 0.6) + (300 x 0.4)
  • Sum = 168 + 120
  • Total Aggregate = 288

UNN Aggregate Score With Post UTME

student studying with a laptop and book

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) calculates the aggregate score for admission into its undergraduate programs using a combination of the JAMB score and the Post UTME score. The aggregate score is calculated as follows:

Aggregate Score = (JAMB Score * 0.6) + (Post UTME Score * 0.4)

Where:

  • JAMB Score is the score you obtained in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination.
  • Post UTME Score is the score you obtained in the UNN Post UTME examination.

For example, if your JAMB score is 280 and your Post UTME score is 310, your aggregate score will be 298.

The minimum aggregate score required for admission into UNN varies depending on the course of study. You can find the minimum aggregate score for each course on the UNN website.

    • Hello Precious,

Your aggregate score is not up to the merit cut off mark. It is the reason why you did not make the first list.

But, there is hope as your name will be on subsequent list.

You should purchase the shopping form to increase your admission chances.

Your chances are not great. You would need an aggregate score of about 290 to get Nursing Science at UNN.

That being said, you still stand a chance for admission depending on various factors like your State of Origin, etc.

See how UNN gives admission here.

I will also want to know whether I should go ahead for my post UTME, or drop that and prepare for Jamb next year ?.

    • Joshua,

There is no cause for alarm.

It means that UNN has not refreshed their Post UTME registration portal.

You will have to exercise more patience. It can take about two weeks.
