Admission Requirements
Candidates are admitted into the Department of geology either through the entrance mode (JAMB) or by Direct Entry (DE), for a five (5) year, and a four (4) year program respectively.
Students applying to study Geology must possess a credit pass in Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the Senior Schol Certificate Examination (SSCE) or National Examination Council.
Direct entry candidates, in addition to the above requirements, should have G.C.E. Advanced Level passes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, or Higher School Certificate (H.S.C) in Geology and any two of the following;
- Mathematics
- Physics, Chemistry
- Biology
- Geography.
Duration of Geology
For JAMB UTME candidates, a maximum period of eight (8) years is allowed for the completion of the programme for the award of B.Sc (in Geology or Geology/Physics).
The maximum period of stay for DE candidates is six (6) years.
