The National Youth Service Corp orientation camp is a three (3) week compulsory programme for youth corpers.
All new NYSC corp members must stay at the Army barrack for twenty-one (21) days to learn military drills and other skills.
This period is the best time and experience for youth corpers. But also stressful for the military exercises at the camps. You would pass through the Army recruit training just fine.

Aim of the NYSC Orientation Program
The objective of the NYSC orientation program is to train and prepare all corpers mobilized for national service.
- You will learn the following during your stay at your State NYSC orientation camp;
- The understanding and objective of the National Youth Service Corps programme
- Acquire knowledge of the political, cultural, social and economic profile for the State of your NYSC posting.

NYSC Camp Documents
Ensure that you do not laminate your NYSC documents. Also, you need to make five (5) copies of each of your required documents at the orientation camp.

NYSC Call Up Letter
The NYSC call up letter is an official document of acceptance of corp members into the youth service programme. It is the official documents that certify you as an NYSC corp member.
NYSC call up letter is the first document you would submit at your orientation camp.
Print out two original copies of your call up letter. Then make five (5) photocopies of your call up letter.

Passport Photograph
Your passport photograph is necessary for your document submission at the NYSC orientation camp.
NYSC passport photographs for be on a red background.
It is advisable to have more than twenty (20) passport photographs at the orientation camp.
Taking your passport photo at home before going to camp is the best option to save costs.
Never forget to attach your passport to your document following the registration instruction at your camp.
Notification/Statement of Result from School
Notification or statement of result from your school is necessary for clearance at the NYSC orientation camp. You will not be allowed into camp if you fail to present your undergraduate statement of result.
A statement of result from your school is a document certifying that you are a graduate of the institution that has met all the school academic requirements.
Ensure that your statement of result carries your school’s official stamp.
Final Year Student Identity Card
Submission of your final year student identity card is not compulsory if you have your statement of result. But necessary for those who do not have their result notification.
You can go to the NYSC camp with your school ID card just in case you need to submit it for verification.
Professional Certificates/Licences
Submission of professional certificates or licences at the orientation camp is for graduates of professional courses.
Graduates of the following courses must submit their license at the NYSC orientation camp;

- Dentistry
- Medical Laboratory Science
- Nursing Science
- Medical Rehabilitation
- Pharmacy
- Medical Radiography
You must submit your professional license to practice your profession at a medical facility during your one (1) year NYSC programme.
Graduates of other courses do not need to submit a license at camp.
Registration Documents
Submission of registration documents is for foreign-trained graduates.
This set of students goes to Abuja for their NYSC registration and verification.
Foreign-trained graduates must go camping with their registration documents.
Water Resistant File
Safekeeping of your documents is necessary during your stay at the NYSC orientation camp.
