ANAN University is a specialised University that offers academic programmes in Accounting and related specialities.
The selection of the academic programmes of the University is based on the mandate of its Proprietor (ANAN) of advancing the Science of Accountancy, as well as promoting the highest standard of competence, practice and conduct among the members of the profession.
The University runs academic programmes at the postgraduate level only. This is so as to meet and indeed surpass the Benchmark Minimum Academic Standards (BMAS) for an academic programmes in Nigerian universities stipulated by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
ANAN University organised its academic structure along college lines. Each college comprises related academic departments which house one or more academic programmes. The ANAN University offers full-time and part-time programmes.
The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) University is a postgraduate institution of excellence in the provision of quality university education in the specialised field of Accountancy and allied subjects in Nigeria.
The University is making rapid positive contributions as a specialised Accounting University in Nigeria and globally building on the reputation of its Proprietor and the Nigerian College of Accountancy that it operates.
The University represents the overlaying effort of the Association and its Governing Council and makes further giant contributions to the development of the Accounting profession in Nigeria.
The University draws on the experience and expertise of the Nigerian College of Accountancy over the years in the provision of excellent professional accounting of Nigeria in setting up the University is in agreement with the objectives of the National Policy on Education in seeking to guarantee access to education for all Nigerians, as well as to make sure that education addresses the need of individuals and of the country.

ANAN Admission Requirements
Postgraduate Diploma Programmes
Requirements For Admission
Requirements for admission into the Postgraduate Diploma programme are as follows:
- Five credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at the Ordinary Level (‘O’ level).
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degrees not lower than Third Class Division from recognized Universities.
- Bachelor’s Degrees with at least second class lower Division in areas not related to Administration may be considered.
- Higher National Diploma at credit level.
- Relevant professional qualifications.
Duration
Full-time Diploma: Minimum of two (2) semesters and a maximum of four (4) semesters.
Professional Masters’ Programmes
Requirements For Admission
Requirements for admission into professional master’s programmes are as follows:
- Five (5) O-level credits including English and Mathematics.
- Candidates with at least 2nd Class honours Lower Division Bachelor’s degree from an approved University.
- Candidates with a Professional Diploma Certificate of the Nigerian College of Accountancy or a PGD from ANUK or any approved University at credit level pass (i.e., 3.5).
Duration
i. A full-time Master’s Programme shall run for a minimum of 4 semesters and a maximum of 6 semesters.
ii. For extension beyond the specified maximum period, special permission from the Board of College of Postgraduate Studies shall be required.
M.Sc. Accounting Programmes
Requirements For Admission
Requirements for admission into professional master’s programmes are as follows:
- Five (5) O-level credits including English and Mathematics.
- Candidates with at least 2nd Class honours Lower Division Bachelor’s degree from an approved University.
- Candidates with a Professional Diploma Certificate of the Nigerian College of Accountancy or a PGD from ANUK or any approved University at credit level pass (i.e. 3.5)
Duration
i. A full-time Master’s Programme shall run for a minimum of 4 semesters and a maximum of 6 semesters.
ii. For extension beyond the specified maximum period, special permission of the Board of College of Postgraduate Studies shall be required.
PhD. Accounting Programmes
Requirements For Admission
Admission Requirements for Doctoral Programmes in Accounting are:
- Five (5) O-level credits including English and Mathematics.
- Candidates with at least 2nd Class honours Lower Division Bachelor’s degree from an approved University.
- Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Accounting Masters of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Accounting with a CGPA of at least 3.5 on a 5.0 point scale from ANUK or any approved University.
- Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Allied fields with professional Accountancy qualification and a CGPA of at least 3.5 on a 5.0 point scale from any approved University.
- Possess adequate intellectual capacity, maturity and effective decision making and problem-solving potentials.
Duration
i. A full-time Doctoral programme shall run for a minimum of six (6) semesters and a maximum of ten (10) semesters.
ii. Postgraduate Studies shall be required.
