The Bayelsa State School of Nursing and Basic Midwifery is the umbrella name for the Bayelsa State-owned School of Nursing and her school of basic Midwifery counterpart.
These schools, respectively, run a 3-year Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) accredited Nursing and Midwifery programme with the core mandate to produce graduates that will be rounded in the knowledge, skills and right attitudes as regards Nursing and Midwifery in the 21st century.

At this moment, the General Public is informed that the sale of entrance forms into the Bayelsa State School Of Nursing (BYSSON) and the Bayelsa state school of basic midwifery (BYSSOM), Tombia for the 2023/2024 academic session has commenced.
Requirements
- Interested applicants must possess 5 credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in not more than two (2) sittings.
- A combination of WAEC and NECO or GCE is allowed.
- Applicants must not be less than 17 years of age.
Admission Form
The sale of forms commences on Tuesday, 14th March 2023.
Bayelsa State School of Nursing (BYSSON) form closing date is Friday, 16th June 2023.
Pay fifteen thousand Naira only (₦15,000) non-refundable fee;

Completed forms, including relevant photocopied documents, should be returned to the Department of Nursing, Ministry Of Health, on or before Friday, 16th June 2023.
