Being overly saturated with success stories and Instagram perfect lifestyles can hurt your mental health. Too many breakthrough stories could negatively affect your creativity and productivity.

You may begin to feel insecure about yourself.

Failure to properly manage these narratives would make you feel shitty about yourselves. Instead of being inspired by successful stories, some times you feel like giving up.

Contrary to what you may think, everybody inclusive your favourite celebrities struggle and experience pain. You are not alone.

I can remember my experience with full-blown depression a few years ago. Life did not make any sense to me at that time. Though I had not felt suicidal at that time, I must confess that I lost hope. I thought I was alone in this world.

Depression is a mind-boggling feeling of pain and sadness.

A state of conviction of seeing no reason to continue living. It becomes pointless to try your best to take on life challenges.

Living with depression will make you feel it is of no worth living through to the next day.

The feeling of depression is worse when you do not have a supportive family or friends.

Feeling depressed is a pointer that you have begun to give up on life. At this stage, you will need to get professional help for a full recovery.

3. Frequent Anxiety

Anxiety is a little monster in your head that make you agitated for no potent reason. Lately, have you been having a difficult time staying calm and happy?

A sign that you are beginning to stop fighting and yield to your problems is that you become overly anxious for nothing. You are scared that everything you have worked hard for would crash down. The fear of the unknown will prevent you from taking the plunge, let alone persevere.

  • Configure your thoughts to think positively.

Do you wake up in the morning and say to yourself – damn there is nothing for me today. You may even find it extremely difficult to get out of bed every morning.

You would want to spend the rest of the day indoors engaging in no productive activity. A life that is not purpose-driven is a good pointer that you are conceding to defeat.

Usually, you should wake up with a road map in your head with plans for a productive day. If you think your life is not purpose-driven, you would need to travel on the path of self-discovery.

A journey where you get to figure out who you are and what you have got to offer. It will make you understand yourself better. Speaking with experienced people and reading books on self-discovery might be a boost.

Oh, yea! Sometimes giving up is the best option. Once in a while, you have to give up on life, your relationship, career or academics. You just have to give yourself a break and breath in the fresh air.

Now, I am not in any way proposing that you quit your relationship or drop out of college. No, no, that is not what I meant. That would be a terrible thing to say.

Sometimes, the best option is to give up for a brief amount of time. It is okay you let that tears drop down your cheek. You need to experience the pain and then acquire strength.

You must understand that you are no superhuman. Truthfully, nobody is perfect. Life is a journey filled with hurdles every few metres.

From an issue, you jump into another problem. Are you not in many messes already?

    and letting go. To me, giving up stems from
    a sense of hopelessness while letting go is
    no longer holding on to things that no longer
    serves you, am here for it, nothing can ever make me go back.

    I’ve had moments in life where I wanted to give up on life, especially after a life changing illness. But my key to happiness was letting go of the guilt, resentment, anger, and more.
