The Honourable Minister of Education (HME), Mallam Adamu Adamu, hereby invites interested and qualified Nigerians to participate in 2022/2023 Nomination Computer Based Test (CBT) for the Federal Government Scholarship Award for:

FSBN Scholarship Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the Nigerian award are as follows;
- Applicants for Postgraduate studies should possess a minimum of the first degree with a Second Class Honours Division. Applicant must be a registered Full-Time student of Federal or State Universities.
- All other applicants (UG, HND & NCE) must be registered full-time students in their second year or above in Federal or State Universities, Polytechnics, Monotechnics, and Colleges of Education.
- All undergraduate Scholarship applicants (Physically challenged inclusive) must have at least a 4.0 Cumulative Grade Points Aggregate (CGPA) on a five (5) point scale or its equivalents or 5.0 on a 7 point scale.
- All NCE and HND applicants must have a CGPA of 3.5 and above on a scale of 4.0
Important Information
- The scholarship is tenable in Nigeria and takes effect from the beginning of the academic session.
- It shall not be held at the same time as another Award nor for part-time studies.
- Change of course or Institution is not allowed while enjoying the award.

I understand your concern. The Federal Scholarship Board (FSB) usually takes about 3-6 months to process scholarship applications. The timeline may vary depending on the number of applications received and the availability of resources.
In your case, you have been nominated for Algeria, which means that your application has been shortlisted. The next step is for the FSB to verify your documents and to conduct an interview with you. The interview will be conducted by a panel of experts from the FSB and the Algerian government.
Once the interview is completed, the FSB will make a decision on your application. The decision will be communicated to you in writing.
I suggest that you be patient and wait for the FSB to make a decision on your application. In the meantime, you can check the FSB website for updates on the scholarship application process.

I received a mail on the 21st of February that I got the scholarship alongside a form to fill but I later got a call about 3 days later late in the evening from a person who identified as a fsbn staff and asked if I received the mail which I confirmed and also asked that I send my account details via WhatsApp to the number used to call me…it just felt awkward. There is no stipulated time for the result to be out.
Formerly, postgraduates received 180,000 but seeing that the bursary was increased to 250,000 for undergraduates, I suspect that postgraduates will receive 300-350 Thousand.
