OfS Scholarships are available for full-time study starting in September on:

Deadlines

The deadline for receipt of scholarship applications is August. The course offers you receive from Teesside University will provide you with your Student ID for you to quote in your OfS scholarship application.

You can apply for your OfS scholarship any time up to the deadline, but please do NOT submit your OfS scholarship application until after you have ACCEPTED a ‘CONDITIONAL’ or ‘UNCONDITIONAL’ offer of a place on an eligible MSc course. OfS scholarship applications received without a valid student ID which is generated after an offer is made will not be considered.

Strict deadlines apply. You must allow plenty of time for your course application to be processed so that you receive an offer of a place on an eligible course well before the scholarship application deadline.

Selection process

The Scholarship Panel will convene soon after the scholarship application deadline, to consider eligible scholarship applications. Your OfS scholarship application will be considered if you meet all the following conditions by the scholarship application deadline:

  • Received and accepted an ‘UNCONDITIONAL’ offer of a place on an eligible course
  • Submitted a valid OfS scholarship application and evidence requested in support of your application
  • (International students only) passed all financial checks and been granted a valid study VISA.

Priority in allocating OfS scholarships will be given to UK female, black and disabled candidates.

The Scholarships Panel’s decisions are final and the panel shall not be obliged to provide reasons for its decisions.

Notification of success

If you are successful in your OfS scholarship application, you will receive a formal offer of a scholarship on or soon after August. You will be given a deadline by which to respond to the offer of a scholarship to let us know if you will be accepting it.

We do not normally write to candidates who have not been successful.

Scholarship disbursement

  • One-year full time course – four quarterly payments of £2,500 in October, January, April and July.
  • Two-year full-time course (including Advanced Practice) – as above, in the first year of your course.

Disbursement is normally made at the end of the month shown to your nominated UK bank account. If a scholarship student should withdraw, suspend, transfer to an ineligible course or another institution, fail their programme of study or leave the University, the scholarship will be negated from that point. The University also reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship and cease further scholarship payments if a student is deemed not to be fully engaged with their learning on their course. Non-engagement includes poor attendance and/or failure to complete course assessments.
