When you apply for a Skilled Worker visa, you’ll need to have enough money to:
- pay the application fee – the standard fee ranges from £625 to £1,423 depending on your circumstances
- pay the healthcare surcharge – this is usually £624 per year
- support yourself when you arrive in the UK – you’ll usually need to have at least £1,270 available (unless you’re exempt)

UK Visa Categories in Nigeria
There are five (5) categories of UK visas for Nigerians;
- UK Study Visa
- UK Visit Visa

UK Study Visa
You should get a decision on your visa within three weeks once you either attend your appointment at the visa application centre or use the ID Check app if you are applying for a:

UK Visit Visa
On average, standard visitor visa applications take six weeks to process. We are working hard to process applications to get back to the 3-week service standard.
You should get a decision on your visa within three weeks once you attend your appointment at the visa application centre if you are applying for a visa to visit the UK:
- for a holiday or to see family or friends
- for a business trip or meeting
- to get married
You may be able to get your visa faster or other services depending on what country you’re in – check with your visa application centre.
UK Join Family Visa
You should get a decision within 12 weeks once you attend your appointment at the visa application centre if you are applying to settle in the UK as the spouse, partner or family member of someone who has British citizenship or is fixed in the UK.

If you are applying as the dependent of another applicant, you will get your decision simultaneously.
