  16. Sir pls I applied for Medical lab science via DE and am kind of confused concerning the time table. I saw 27th for Medical lab science candidate and 29th for Mop-up and DE student. Pls I want to be clearified, which did I fall on?

    Reply
    • The 27th date is for UTME applicants.

As a direct entry applicant, your exam is on the 29th of January.

In UNN, all DE applicant write their screening exam on the same day.

  17. Please I would like to know more about the shopping list at unn… Do I get to write another exam when shopping for another course.

    Reply
    • You do not write another exam for shopping.

UNN shopping list is for aspirants that do not make the merit list.

They can apply through shopping to less competitive courses to get increase their chances of admission.

Departments in the shopping form are those that have a shortfall of students i.e they have a lower cut off mark and not many students applied for such courses.

Note that applying for shopping is not compulsory. You can get admission for the course you applied to study during your Post UTME registration without buying the shopping form.

    • The reason for the change in the Post UTME date is to allow other students to register for the exam. Nothing of much concern.

You are guaranteed admission on the Merit list if you beat your department cut off mark.

    * Is it possible to still study psychology even though I put the medicine and surgery during JAMB?

    * For the post you the post UTME… Since I want to study psychology and not medicine and surgery should write the exam for medicine and surgery and not for psychology or the other way around?
    * Is it also possible ot still study psychology even after writing post utme for medicine and surgery?
    * If I want to rectify my indecisiveness problem what timeline do I have to to it?
    * And most importantly how do I rectify it?

    Reply
    • Hello, Theola.

I’m glad you find this page helpful.

UNN does not offer Aeronautical Engineering.

Concerning the change from Medicine to Psychology. Yes, it is possible.

You can do a change of course at the JAMB CBT centre. It would reflect on the UNN Portal.

But the challenge would be if the change from JAMB would reflect before the commencement of the Post UTME examination.

Also, after the release of the Merit admission list.

You can apply for Psychology through the UNN Shopping List.

For the first option, inquire at the CBT centre if the Change of Course could reflect before the end of the week.

Let me know if you have further questions.

      Reply
      • Thank you very much…. I will do the cbt inquires …. But let’s assume it doesn’t work out and I write the post utme for medicine and surgery when applying for the shopping list for psychology do I get to write another exam.

  50. Hi Blessing,
My ward scored 257 in jamb and going for medicine and surgery. What is her target score for post Utme to gain admission in the course

    Reply
    • Good day Sir,

To get Medicine and Surgery in UNN, one should be looking at getting an aggregate above 305.

She should target above 315 in the Post UTME exam.

      Reply
      • Thanks Blessing, she will work on that by Gods grace, so anything less than an aggregate of 305 cannot guarantee her admission into the course.

        Reply
        • Yes, a lesser aggregate will not guarantee her getting Medicine and Surgery except there is a reduction in the cut off mark which is most unlikely.

In such situations, aspirants are given admission for related courses like Medical Lab Science, Radiography, Microbiology, etc.

The focus now should be for her to get the best possible score in the screening exam and hope for the best.

    • You will be able to update your result on the UNN portal after the Post UTME exam.

Your score is quite low for Medicine. I will say that you should target above 3oo in your Post UMTE.

      Good luck

    • Same as UTME candidates.

The higher your screening score, the higher your chances of gaining admission through direct entry.

    • Tochukwu, there is no problem with your age concerning UNN admission.

Concerning your JAMB score, it depends on the department of Engineering.

For example, Mechanical engineering is the most competitive.

You should target to score above 280 in your Post UTME.

        • Hello, Max

No disturb at all. Feel free to ask any of your questions.

What error message do you get when you try to upload your certificates?

My best bet is that the UNN Post UTME portal is currently unstable as many applicants are also trying to submit their applications.

Keep on trying. I hope you are using a PC with strong internet for your application.

    • Hello, Pascal.

      I get your question.

At this stage, you will have to work hard to score high in your Post UTME.

With a good aggregate, UNN will give you admission for related courses.

Also, you may have to purchase the Shopping form after the Post UTME.

The shopping form in UNN is simply applying to departments that have vacant slots after the release of the Merit admission list.

      I wish you the best.

    • Your score is okay if you can get a high score in the Post UTME to boost your aggregate score.

You should target to score above 295 in your Post UMTE exam.

      Reply
    • No.

You would only be able to apply for courses listed as shopping courses by UNN.

These are low competitive courses that still have available slots after the release of the Merit list.

    • Your JAMB score is quite low for Medical Laboratory Science.

    • Favour,

The process doesn’t work like that.

See if you can get the LGA or an affidavit.

But if you are unable to get any of these two documents before the deadline. Then go on with the registration without uploading the documents.

So long that they would be ready by the time for UNN first year clearance.

    • You can make use of your Primary school testimonial for the registration.

But make sure that you get the First School Leaving Certificate by the time the admission list is out.

    • First School leaving certificate is mandatory for registration.

You can get a statement of results if you have misplaced the document.

Better still, make use of your Primary school testimonial for the registration.

      Did you misplace the document?

If yes, then, there is a way you can get a testament of result from your Primary school.

    Reply
    • The cut-off mark would be released after the Post UTME examination.

However, the cut-off mark for Mass Communication for last session was above 260.

Your chances are quite slim with Mass Communication in UNN.

You would have had a higher chance with a State University.

    • Deborah,

The cut-off mark for Nursing and Med Lab would be released after the Post UTME examination.

It is determined by the general performance of students in the screening exams.

However, you should be looking at around 280 to get the Merit list.

      • Thank you for your reply but I want to know the cut off mark from Jamb because I scored 194 and I put Nursing Science. So I want to know my Faith

        Reply
        • The UNN general cut off mark for JAMB is 160.

That is, you are qualified to sit for the UNN Post UTME if you have a JAMB score above 160.

But to get admission, you will need to beat the cut off mark for Nursing.

Sincerely speaking, you have got a slim chance for Nursing with 194 due to the competitiveness of the course.

Nevertheless, work towards scoring high in your UNN Post UTME Screening Exam.
