The Objective of the KPMG Internship program is to provide challenging opportunities for talented undergraduate and graduate students from local & international institutions to gain practical insights into the operational environment of KPMG as a service firm.

The Program is designed to provide an enriching experience characterised by measurable on-the-job training, designed to help you succeed in your division.

It is an avenue to develop leadership traits in young individuals and assist them in realising their potential.

You’ll work on client projects, develop technical skills and experience our vibrant culture.

The firm will ensure you have adequate responsibilities, opportunities and support to push yourself.

Interns are assigned to Practice and non- Practice divisions based on their areas of interest and availability in these units.

You will work with seasoned experienced professionals across various units and divisions.

Internship Categories

Undergraduate Internship

The Undergraduate Internship program is for candidates currently pursuing a university degree.

The prospective candidate must have completed at least the second year of university, but must NOT be in the final year.

Candidates from all disciplines and courses with an outstanding interim academic record and an interest in the firm’s service offerings, across all divisions.

A competitive and attractive compensation is rewarded upon completion.

Graduate Internship

This program is open to postgraduate level students across all disciplines, seeking work experience in the interim.

KPMG is looking for students within the 1st class or 2.1-degree class with an interest in the firm’s service offerings, across all divisions.

In this program, you’ll join industry experts developing meaningful solutions for clients, giving you a great head start on your career.

Pre-NYSC Internship

This program is aimed at graduate-level students, seeking an interim job, whilst awaiting NYSC deployment.

KPMG invite candidates from all disciplines, however, this program is exclusive to our Management Consulting Unit.

It provides a mutual and extensive opportunity to assess candidates’ capability and cultural fit into the KPMG way as it may eventually be the standard entry path into a more permanent Analyst position within the firm’s Management Consulting Unit.

Requirement for Eligibility

All programs run from June-September, with a minimum duration of 6 weeks (Pre-NYSC Interns may be granted extensions).

Undergraduate Internship

Graduate Internship

  • Be below 26 years of age
  • Possess credit in a minimum of 5 subjects (SSCE/equivalent) including Mathematics and English in one sitting.
  • Have a minimum of second class upper degree grade in any discipline – CGPA Transcript required
  • Be currently undergoing a Post Graduate degree program (MSc)
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills; and an ability to work in a team.

Pre-NYSC Internship

  • Be below 26 years of age
  • Be a “Pre” NYSC graduate/postgraduate
  • Have a minimum of 2.1 class of degree
  • Have a minimum of 5 credits in one sitting, including Mathematics and English in O’levels / A’levels
  • Be available for the program for a minimum of 8 weeks
  • Candidates must be interested in building a career in consulting
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills; and an ability to work in a team

Selection Process

Undergraduate Internship

  • Stage 1: Online Application Form
    • This should be completed on the company website and is your chance to tell us about yourself, including your academic background, relevant employment history and work experience.
  • Stage 2: Online Essay Assessment
    • Upon review of your application, you will receive an email with an Essay question centred around the Core Values of the firm. The essay is to be completed and sent back as stated in the question. It is designed to ensure your values are aligned with that of the firms.
  • Stage 3: Telephone Interview
    • Upon successful completion of the essay assessment, a prescheduled telephone interview with a recruiter will be held. It will consist of a mixture of competency-based questions, and other questions centred around information enlisted on your CV regarding Work Experience and Education. This way, we can get to know you and you can get to know us.
  • Stage 4: Offer Letter
    • An offer letter will be sent to you, with clarification on your preferred unit, and start and end dates.

Graduate Internship

  • Stage 1: Online Application Form
    • This should be completed on the company website and is your chance to tell us about yourself, including your academic background, relevant employment history and work experience.
  • Stage 2: Aptitude Test
    • This is a test designed to explore the candidate’s knowledge and skillset on suitability for the job. The test is GMAT based.
  • Stage 3: Situational Judgment Test
    • The essence of a Situational Judgment Test (SJT) is to assess how you will approach various scenarios that may potentially occur within the KPMG workspace. For each situation, a number of responses will be provided and candidates must judge the most effective course of action.
  • Stage 4: Interview
    • The interview process consists of:
      • Assessment Center and One-on-One Interview
      • This is a combination of tasks and activities including group activities that test your overall suitability for the job with an interview to determine if you are the right candidate for the job
  • Stage 5: Offer Letter
    • An offer letter will be sent to you, with clarification on your preferred unit, and start and end dates.
